The Modi government has given a big gift to the central workers amid rising inflation and the Koro epidemic. The government has increased the dearness allowance of central employees, i.e. DA from 17% to 28%. According to sources, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) on Wednesday sealed the deal. It is yet to be officially announced. The decision will benefit 50 lakh central employees and 61 lakh pensioners.
Earlier, due to the Corona epidemic, raising the DA of employees and pensioners was banned till June 2021. Central employees and pensioners are due to receive three installments of DA on January 1, 2020, July 1, 2020 and January 1, 2021.

What is inflation allowance, i.e. DA?
The inflation allowance is a part of the celery. This is a fixed percentage of the employee's primary salary. To reduce the impact of inflation in the country, the government provides inflation allowances to its employees. This is increased from time to time. Retired employees also benefit from this.

The meeting is being held in view of the monsoon session
The monsoon session of Parliament is scheduled to begin on July 19. It is believed that this is the reason why the cabinet meeting has been called. PM Modi approves Rs 23,000 crore package for health emergencies
Health Minister Mansukh Mandvia said, "We have come up with a new package of Rs 23,000 crore in view of the difficulties faced by Corona in the second wave."


In the package, Center Narendra Singh Tomar said that the meeting focused on strengthening mandis for the welfare of farmers. Arrangements have been made to use the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund for this as well as to waive the interest on the loan

The agriculture minister said the government has planned to disburse Rs 1 lakh crore to farmers through mandis.
