Free grain ration card holders will be available from tomorrow 2020

In view of the widespread impact of Covid virus (Covid-19), the Government of India has decided to distribute wheat, rice and pulses free of cost to NFSA cardholders during the period from April 2020 to June 2020 under the "Prime Minister's Poor Welfare Food Scheme" (PMGKAY)

The Government of India has extended the term of "Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana" till November 2020 under the scheme N.E.S.A. It has been decided to give the benefit of free distribution to the ration card holders from July 2020 to November 2020, under which the food and no. In accordance with the resolution under reference (1) of the department, in addition to the regular allotment per month to the total N.E.S.A cardholders of the state for a total period of five months from July 2020 to November 2020, an additional allotment of Rs. Cereals (wheat - 4.5 kg and rice - 1.5 kg) and 1 kg per family. Chickpeas remain to be distributed

Ration card holders will get free foodgrains from all the cheap food shops in Gujarat.

Customer should keep his ration card, Aadhaar card and identity card with him
Ration card holders will be able to get free foodgrains from any cheap food shop across the state by establishing their identity by their fingerprint.

In addition to the food items available to more people in the month of July, free foodgrains will be provided to everyone under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana.

Chief Minister of the state Mr.Vijay Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Nitin Patel have taken a number of decisions for the welfare of the poor and labourers amidst the lockdown due to COVID-19. Adding one more to the list, the CM announced that 66 lakh NFSA card holders will get a sum of Rs.1000 as financial aid under Gujarat Corona Sahayata Yojana for the month of April. Providing details about the decision of the CM, Secretary to CM Mr.Ashwani Kumar said, “ The decision has been taken in order to ensure that the poor and labourers have money to take care of their expenses amidst the lockdown.

A Common Services Portal (CSP – Digital Gujarat Portal) is a vision to provide one-stop solution for all G2C Services for citizens of Gujarat State. As a part of this vision, this Department intended to integrate Home Department, Women & Child Development ,Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Revenue Department, Education Department and Social Justice and Empowerment Department G2C Services in this application.

A sum of Rs.1000 will be deposited through DBT for 66 lakh NFSA beneficiaries. The state government will bear an additional burden of Rs.660 crores for the same. The eligible families are not required to fill any form of documentations for the same.

“Gujarat has about 20 lakh construction workers including both migrants from others states, and locals. Among the locals, about 70% are tribal people from Central Gujarat – areas like Dahod and Panchamahal,” said Vipul Pandya, the Director of Bandhkam Mazdoor Sangathan, a Gujarat-based civil rights organisation working for construction workers.
That about 6.34 lakh workers from that number are registered with the Gujarat Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.

“However, though the government claims to have disbursing the amount, most especially tribal workers have complained they have not received the money,” he added.
