Government's big gift to farmers: DAP fertilizer bags will be available at Rs 1,200 instead of Rs 2,400, the Center has increased the subsidy from Rs 500 to Rs 1,200

The central government will spend an additional Rs 14,775 crore on subsidies for this

The central government on Wednesday evening brought good news for farmers. The government has increased the subsidy on DAP fertilizer by 140%. This means that farmers will now get a subsidy of Rs 1,200 instead of Rs 500 per bag. This will give farmers Rs 1,200 instead of Rs 2,400 for compost bags.

The decision was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The PM said that despite the rise in international markets, farmers will get fertilizer at the old rates. The central government will spend an additional Rs 14,775 crore on subsidies for this.

The meeting discussed the issue of rising fertilizer prices due to rising prices of phosphoric acid, ammonia, etc. internationally. Stressing on the issue, the Prime Minister said that despite the increase in international prices, it has been decided to make fertilizer available to farmers at the old rates.

Rahul Gandhi tweeted about the price hike
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi this morning with a news item from Bhaskar slammed the Center for raising DAP prices. He wrote that why did the central government increase ?: GST and the price of petrol and diesel fertilizer, the income of Modi's friends, even atrocities in the epidemic on food donors

Why did the central government reduce? Agricultural subsidies, farmers' income and the dignity of the central government

Earlier there was a subsidy of Rs 500 on the price of Rs 1700
Last year, the actual price of DAP was Rs 1,700 per bag. In which the central government was giving Rs. 500 per bag. Therefore, companies used to sell fertilizer to farmers at Rs 1,200 per bag. Recently, the international prices of phosphoric acid, ammonia, etc. used in DAP have gone up by 60 per cent to 70 per cent.

As a result, the actual price of a DAP bag is now Rs 2,400, which is sold by fertilizer companies at Rs 1,900 with a subsidy of Rs 500. With today's decision, farmers are getting bags of DAP for only Rs 1,200.

Another big boon to farmers after Akshay
This is the second major decision in the interest of farmers after the direct transfer of Rs 20,667 crore to farmers' accounts under the PM-KISAN scheme on the day of Akshay III. The central government spends about Rs 80,000 crore every year on chemical fertilizer subsidies. Along with increasing the subsidy in DAP, the Government of India will spend an additional Rs 14,775 crore during the kharif season.
