As per the decision of the core committee, considering the state of transition of cores in the state, all government and private schools in Std. 1 to 9 across the state will be closed from Monday 5th April till further notice or order. All schools will have to implement these instructions. Chief Minister Rupani has taken this decision in the core committee meeting with the objective of wider interest of the students of the state and control of transition of cores.

The board exam is starting from May 4
The board exams are starting from next May 4, so some rules have been made by the education department to keep the students away from the transition to corona. If a student finds fever, cold, cough and temperature high during the board exams of standard 10 and 12, the student will be kept in a separate room so that there is no danger of infection in any other student. However, in view of the current situation, some new rules may be implemented by the Board of Education at the time of examination.
Schools were closed again on March 18
Amidst the outcry in the state, the government had decided to stop offline education in schools in 8 metros from March 18. Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama said that 8 Municipal Corporations namely Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot, Surat, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, Junagadh and Direct education will be closed in all primary, secondary and higher secondary schools in Gandhinagar from March 19, 2021 to April 10. Online education-home learning will be given in the schools of these 8 Manpa area as well as the first examination will be taken online in the secondary and higher secondary schools.
Offline education began in January and Feb.
Earlier, Std 10 and 12 schools were opened from January 11, following which Std 10 and 12, PG and last year's college classes were started. Then in the state std. Schools for 9th and 11th were started on 1st February as well as classes for standard 9th to 12th and competitive examinations were allowed. After the reopening of schools and colleges from 9 to 12, the state government's education department announced the resumption of classroom education for first-year students in colleges from February 8
